• Family History: From The Amidon Family, by Frank E. Best, 1904, page 26. Moses Amidon 77 (Capt. Henry 21, Henry 9, Philip 9, Roger 1), born in 1756, probably in Pomfret, Conn. He married at Willington, Conn., May 26, 1780, Sarah Davis. He was a farmer at Willington where all of his children were born. He served in the Revolutionary army as follows:
Private from May 5, 1775, to December 17, 1775, in Capt. Solomon Willes' Company, 2d Continental Regiment. This company was stationed near Boston, and a portion of it was engaged in the battle of Bunker Hill. He also served in New York City and on Long Island as a private in Capt. Parker's Company from June, 1776 to December 25, 1776, and was engaged in the battle of White Plains on October 28 of that year. He served as a sergeant from July 1, 1778 to March 1779, in Capt. Hill's Company Col. Samuel McClellan's Regiment, which served mostly in Rhode Island. He was placed on the pension role in 1833, and at that time was living in Washington County, N.Y.
Moses married Sarah Davis on 26 May 1780 in Willington, Connecticut.
